    SFP Optical Module Classification:
    1. Classified by rate: 155M/622M/1.25G/2.125G/4.25G/8G/10G. 155M and 1.25G are currently the most commonly used in the market. 10G technology is gradually maturing, and demand is rising, making it a major optical module product in the future.
    2. Classified by wavelength: 850nm/1310nm/1550nm/1490nm/1530nm/1610nm. 850nm is multi-mode SFP, with a transmission distance of less than 2KM, such as Cisco's GLC-SX-MM; 1310/1550nm are single-mode, with a transmission distance of over 2KM. These three wavelengths are relatively cheaper than the other three.
    Bare modules are easily confused without markings. Manufacturers usually distinguish them by the color of the pull ring: for example, a black pull ring indicates multi-mode (850nm); blue indicates 1310nm; yellow indicates 1550nm; purple indicates 1490nm, etc.

    Function of Optical Modules: Optical modules perform optoelectronic conversion. The transmitting end converts electrical signals into optical signals, which are transmitted via fiber optics. The receiving end then converts the optical signals back into electrical signals. They consist of optoelectronic devices, functional circuits, and optical interfaces. Optoelectronic devices include both transmitting and receiving components.

    Transceiver: The main function is to achieve optoelectronic/electro-optical conversion. Common types include: SFF, SFP, SFP+, GBIC, XFP, etc.
